Bruno Liljefors, a Swedish painter, was renowned for his intricate knowledge of nature and its animals. His paintings depicted the beauty of nature with intricate detail and a deep understanding of the habitats and behaviors of his subjects.

The undergrowth in ‘A Fox Family’ matches the fox kits’ stage of development. Sometime in early summer, they are mature enough to eat solid food instead of suckling. This is the time when cow-parsley comes into flower, whereas the dandelions have gone to seed.
